the end of an era

it's been a while since i have posted.

i have been sick. i have been tired. i have been sick and tired.

but now i'm all better, but just sad.

not only did so many people lose their jobs today right before christmas,

but now another sadness bettie page has also died.

so tonight take a moment to find something you are thankful for, be it a job, the roof over your head, the people who love you, or the new marc jacobs dress hanging in the closet. just remember, even when things are tough someone out there is having an even harder time.

more to come soon, i promise. but for now its sleeping pills and an early night. may tomorrow bring a new day and a new beginning.

ysl at the de young

and the sob craigslist posting unfortunately did not turn up a ticket to yesterdays opening symposium. due to rain, full parking lots, high heel boots, and assuming the rain would stop later my visit to the yves saint laurent exhibit at the de young was delayed by a day. this morning i rose early, started some crazy cleaning and at tim's prodding stopped to head over to the museum.

no rain today thank god and we are only a several walk block from the park and the de young, so after fueling up on a breakfast of diet pepsi max we made our way to the exhibit. mind you i had been anticipating said exhibit since tim told me about it back at the end of june, and needless to say i was not disappointed. a fabulous display of a broad range of ysl works, my only regret is not getting a photo of one of my favorite dresses the Mondrian dress from 1965.

photography even w/o flash was not allowed but i was not going to let that stop me. armed with my iphone up my jacket sleeve i shot the following "secret" photos of the exhibit.
